iPad Case Review
I’ve long been a fan of Targus products and decided to pick up the new Targus Vuscape Case & Stand for iPad 4. I’m glad I did! This is a lightweight and durable protective case that offers killer value for the price.
Allow me to share with you some of my favorite things about the Targus Vuscape Case & Stand.
What you’ll notice first about the Targus Vuscape is the build quality: this is a handsome, well-made case available in four exterior colors. I went with black.
The exterior itself is durable but not bulky, and covered in a waterproof, leather-like material accented by strong white stitching. A sturdy elastic band on the front cover keeps my stylus safe when I’m not using it and also secures my iPad when I’m typing on it.
The Targus Vuscape looks good while keeping my iPad protected from bumps and minor spills. It’s a win-win.
Plus, because the Targus Vuscape is so compact it takes up about the same amount of space in my bag as my iPad would on its own.
The interior lining is incredibly soft – it feels like felt or velvet. No worries that it will scratch my iPad screen.
Inside the cover there are two deep ridges. My iPad fits snugly in these ridges so I have options when it comes to viewing angles.
I watch a lot of movies on my iPad. Being able to choose between three different viewing angles is very convenient. There’s also a cutout on the side of the case for the volume rocker, so I don’t have to hassle with taking the iPad out of the case every time I want to adjust the volume.
I also use my iPad for emails and social media, so one of my requirements in a protective case was a comfortable, secure typing angle. The Targus Vuscape Cover & Stand for iPad 4 is a big improvement over the previous model in this regard.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Targus Vuscape Cover & Stand for the iPad 2 one of its biggest drawbacks was a subpar typing angle. It just didn’t work very well. The iPad bounced and jostled like crazy if you were trying to type on it while it was in the case.
Not so with this newest model of the Targus Vuscape Cover & Stand. Simply open the case completely and lock the iPad into typing position using the elastic band on the front cover. It’s easy and functions incredibly well.
I don’t personally take too many photos with my iPad, but I know lots of people who do. If you’re a shutterbug who enjoys snapping photos with your iPad you’ll be happy to know the Targus Vuscape features a precision-cut camera opening just over the iPad’s camera lens. I took a few test pictures with my iPad in the case and was able to get clear, unobstructed shots every time.
One of the coolest things about the Targus Vuscape is its magnetic on/off feature: close the case and your iPad powers down. This is fantastic if, like me, you frequently use your iPad while commuting.
Finally, I should mention the price. The Targus Vuscape offers a ton of value at a very appealing price. Granted, it doesn’t quite approach the quality of high-end case like the real bookbinding case made by DODOcase, but it’s not nearly as expensive. Hands down this is one of the absolute best protective cases in its price range and I really feel like I’m getting my money’s worth.
A protective case is essential if you’re serious about taking great care of your iPad 4. Out of the many cases on the market I’m glad I went with the Targus Vuscape Case & Stand. The Targus Vuscape’s design, functionality, and price make it worth a look. Check it out at Amazon.
